The average property prices in the major Bulgarian Properties cities have seen a surprising 10% - 30% growth during the last 3 months, compared to the same period last year, according to the Bulgarian National Statistics Institute.

The average price of newly build properties in Bulgaria in December 2004 was 316/sq.m. which is 11% higher compared to September 2004.

Highest property prices have been registered in Sofia and Varna, 1,095/sq.m. and 1,083/sq.m. respectively and the cheapest in North-West parts of the Bulgaria. The average price in North-Western Bulgarian city of Vidin was ?150/sq.m., Vraca - 140/sq.m. and Lovech - 149/sq.m.

The cities with fastest growing property prices in Bulgaria during 2004 are Dobrich, Targovishte and Gabrovo with 34%, 33% and 32% respectively. The average property prices in these cities are between 205/sq.m. and 230/sq.m. High prices and fast growth have already been registered in Burgas - 481/sq.m., Plovdiv - 392/sq.m., Stara Zagora - 378/sq.m., Pleven - 328/sq.m. and Blagoevgrad - 306/sq.m.
