Bids on new apartments in Bucharest grow older cheaper


The average bid for a newly built apartment in Bucharest has risen to 1506 euros per square meter in the first quarter, according to a study on the Romanian real estate site imobiliare.ro, quoted by local online edition Romanian Times. The price increased by 3.5 percent in late March to late February. However, it remains 11.9 percent lower than the same period a year ago. The highest increases prices of flats marked with two or three rooms, increasing by 4.9 percent and 4.1 percent in March from the previous month. Unlike the new prices of old apartments dropped by 0.2 percent compared to February to ˆ 1,298 / sq. m. Moreover, they are 12.1% cheaper than a year ago, according to another analysis. In Brasov, the average price of apartments at the end of March was 952 euros / sq. m, which is a slight decrease of 0.2 percent compared to February. Levels were similar in the northern city of Iasi (942 euros) and Timisoara in the west (961 euros). In Cluj-Napoca average price is ˆ 1,037 / sq. m, 2.6 percent more in February, according to data on the site.
